Rose, in her old age, owns a Pomeranian. A Pomeranian was one of only three dogs known to have survived the disaster.
As the real ship sank, a passenger freed dogs from their kennels and a survivor later recalled a French bulldog swimming in the ocean. James Cameron filmed scenes portraying the doomed animals but cut them.

The casting for the main characters was perfect. Sharon Stone, and a few others..too old. Madonna!? She would have been a hideous choice.

My dad, a former Navy vet, refused to go see the movie. When asked why, he said: "I know how it ends!" :-)
