For those of you who master Norwegian language, I would highly recommend Terje Nordby's text "Come back, Liza" as performed by Lasse Kolsrud. I don't think it is published in print, but the radio play (produced by NRK) is available on CD.

"Come back, Liza" doesn't have any humorous final puch line like the story above, but it certainly has lots of literary and dramatic qualities. (And, the play has won international prizes.)
