I think even if some of these movies are not that good, people shouldn't criticize them too much. People who made the movies have tried at least to do a good job. I actually like some of these films.

"Wanderlust"

Budget: $35 million

Box office: $21.5 million

Critics say: "A random, tedious and tone-deaf comedy, a feeble recycling of every hippie commune cliche you've ever heard." —Roger Moore, McClatchy-Tribune News Service

What makes it a flop: David Wain films (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models) vary in terms of box-office success, but they at least tend to be beloved among comedy fans. Wanderlust had a much more muted response.

Silver lining: Even detractors liked the cast of Wain standbys, including Paul Rudd, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, and Kerri Kenney-Silver.
