Baumettes prison in Marseille, France is possibly the foulest in all of Europe. The prison, which is currently overcrowded and filthy, is set to be renovated to bring it up to modern health and safety standards.

The “Sham II” is the latest armoured tank built by the Syrian rebels in their fight against the brutal regime of President Bashar al-Assad. It took a month to design and assemble the machine, which has five cameras and a 7.62mm machine gun attached to its frame. The machine gun is controlled by control stick from a Sony PS3 games console from inside and although the 2.5 cm thick metal walls cannot withstand a grenade or tank fire, they can reportedly resist up to 23 mm cannon fire. The tank cost approximately $10 000 to build.
