There is something wrong: the AC adapter is AC-AC 12v and the fan is DC 12v. It seems to be working, but it would be better with AC-DC adapter of 12Vdc. Just saying... Other than that, a very good idea.

Only problem I see here is that buying the separate parts would be a lot more expensive than just getting an off-the-shelf boot dryer.

Nicely done job, though. :-)

Just set you boots over the heat vent on the floor and they'll be dry in the morning - for free!
