this is so stupid. In reality, airstrips surrounded by sea are the safest, cause you can always emergency land on water. Read the freaking safety manual and think why they show you floating vests.
Pegasus White Ice Runway, Antarctica, the southernmost of three airfields serving McMurdo Station. Believe it or not, aircraft take off and land here all year long.
