Junk food is high in calorie to size ratio versus more healthy options. It also has a long shelf life. It would make sense for a shelter where you would spend only 2-3 weeks until the worst of the radiation subsided.

yea it's not the worst choice. powdered stuff and hard candies makes some sense. anything with oils in it (which is most food) would go rancid.
