Sinkhole Swallows Trees in a Matter of Seconds

I’ve never seen trees disappear that fast before. The way they sink is just stunning!

Blub blub blub... that hole must be deep! BTW, it looks like these trees have been sinking a bit before this incident. Just look at the base of the other trees.

look how much the water level went down. the volume of water that went into that hole is enormous!

crispy, I thought the same but the other trees had those water level marks before the ones in front of them disappeared...

How did they know that was going to happen? Dumb luck?

apparently it's a 24-acre sinkhole that's been growing for some time in louisiana, the result of a deep salt mine that collapsed and caused some kind of chain reaction.

the surrounding banks, trees, etc have probably been getting sucked in steadily ever since. so the event in the video would likely have been one of many similar ones. scary, eh? now maybe the price of morton's will go up...
