Before becoming mayor he worked as a taxi driver but in 2010 he successfully created his own political party, "Best Party", along with a number of other people who had no background in politics. Surprisingly, the residents of the city elected him for the post of a mayor and since his election he has been a source of amusement and shock through his many bizarre antics. He even appeared at the 2010 Gay Pride parade as a drag queen amongst other things!

the world is getting to be like NYC, and i just have a hard time being shocked anymore. the main issue is-- can he govern well?

From what I've read he's a damn good mayor.
Does it even matter ? Everyone thinks he's a weirdo.
From the other hands, everyone knows that politicians do nothing, but they're not seen as weirdo.

it makes a certain point, i think-- allow someone to be themselves, with nothing to be ashamed over that they shouldn't really be ashamed over, able to freely do all the things that give them strength and peace of mind, and yet still be held accountable for their work...... and they will tend to do the best job possible for you.
