The war veteran here is Jon Lewis Alexander, 54, a man who served four tours of duty in Iraq during his 30 years in the U.S. military, he is also a former prison guard and private investigator.

Why people like to capture video from screen with camera? Why don't just record it with some video software. Anyway, I really like how fast the man pullout his gun and aim at the thief face, shit could be worst, for the robbery of course when few 9mm bullet pop his face off...

Some stand alone digital surveillance systems are a little complicated to extract video from so unless the video is being pulled for police/court purposes it's easier to just film from the screen. plus I doubt the manager or owner of that store would have bothered to take the time to pull the vid just to post on YouTube.
