i understand it's a beneficial thing, but i'm not sure it needs to be heavily pursued. a balanced life will generally produce plenty of healing laughter. a lot of that will arise from peace of mind... which will spontaneously find plenty of things amusing and laugh-worthy.
a culture full of empty laughter is not necessarily a good thing, i suspect.
As laughter improves blood flow, controls stress hormones and provides a burst of exercise, it conveys a wake-up call to body organs such as the heart, brain and lungs and stimulates them into action.
