i understand it's a beneficial thing, but i'm not sure it needs to be heavily pursued. a balanced life will generally produce plenty of healing laughter. a lot of that will arise from peace of mind... which will spontaneously find plenty of things amusing and laugh-worthy.

a culture full of empty laughter is not necessarily a good thing, i suspect.

Laughter protects the heart

In another study conducted by the University of Maryland Medical Center a correlation was demonstrated between people who laugh often and overall heart health. The researchers found that people with heart disease were 40% less likely to laugh in a variety of situations compared to people of the same age without heart disease.
