however, something like this might be possible with the same technology as electronic ink. you could have a car that changes from white to black, and any shade in-between. and unlike an LCD display, power is not needed when maintaining the shade.

It's not fake. Although this particular video does appear extreme.
Google image "Harlequin Paint". A friend owns a car with this paint job. It is stunning. Different angles you get different colours. But not like this video suggests.
