He's perfectly right. She just had a good lesson and a well deserved shame.

Actually he has humiliated her in public without due process. His actions might be criminal assault.

As much as I hate thieves, I think this guy is both out of line AND an asshole. If he wanted to stop her shoplifting, he should have alerted a store manager or called the police. Doing what he did is probably illegal (let's hope some sleazy attorney takes up the case) and I would have laughed my ass off if she had pulled a handgun from her purse and put a round into his face.

This lady has a disease. Called kleptomania. Is a very sad disease that needs help and treatment. But this guy... This guy has a condition: PERVERSION! The perversity of this guy disgusts me. Unfortunately, for this guy's sickly behaviour and his perversity and cruelty, there's no treatment.

i suspect that's harassment and unauthorised filming and media distribution on his part. until goods leave a store unpaid for, there is no theft. AFAIK in all 50 states people can legally carry things around in whatever container they want until checking out.

also, people have been hit hard as nails by the economy, especially parents with kids. i see little point in making an example of a potential walmart shoplifter. this is not someone brandishing a weapon upon a hapless clerk or taking advantage of small business.

She is a thief. Plain and simple. If she were stealing food for her children it would be forgivable.

Sick guy; he is not allowed to play police and ask for ID or what so ever. I think she was a bit shaken and did what that guy told her to do. And as it was said above you are not a thief till you leave the store with unpaid stuff. Sick dude, and probably he thinks he is a hero.

Why does ree think it would be funny if the woman would have pulled a gun and shot the guy in the face? Ree is one sick bastard and a piece of crap and he needs to be confronted whenever he pulls to stupid crap like that statement. It seems the NO ONE is willing to confront or call him on his stupidty except me. And I am willing to do that every chance I get. He reminds me of a 10 year old that is hooked on violent video games. Thinks it would be cool to ¨pop a cap¨ in someone just for the thrills. He has no idea what it feels like to shoot someone under any circumstances. I think he should be banned from this website.

why do you think the problem is on the internet only, may be I should be off the planet :) There is nothing wrong with the internet. It is us who make the place. I am sure we can have same amount of fun without those things I mentioned.
So, you do like discrimination, racism and insult?

Well I guess some people like yourself take everything to heart and don't see the funny side.
If I were to cry every time someone said something racist(racism enfolds every ethnicity) or something about a fat person or woman, then I'd be like you- a loser.

Harden the fuck up and get over it.

I have loads of fun but I don't want to have it on cost of others. Where are your borders, or do you have any at all? Do you only "cry" when someone directs the insult to you? Isn't this just selfish? So you stand for what is right only in case when YOUR right is on jeopardy? You don't have any values? Or you just don't care at all. Listen, I am hard enough and am not short of knowledge on bad language but I don't see how would that be helping.

i saw a tv special...it was all about the "creative punishment" and read about that. it's working better than prison time. She is on bail...signal that isn't her first time. The justice system in USA is not perfect...but at least know the difference between Kleptomania and shoplifting(knowing the difference they save millions of dollars in legal issues) take this like a creative punishement...maybe is better for her than to report to the guards.

Creative punishment? Differences between kleptomania and shoplifting??... This is a reductionist thinking. A typical thought of governmental organizations, such as prizes for reducing the human being to a mere stimulus-response behavior. The human-being should be more than just any behavioral classifications providentially created to ensure the continued profit of the State machine.

Is just my opinion...excuse me if my "reductionist thinking" isn't enough for you. the Stimulus-response is a fact...and prison isn't a rehab (in my country is like the crime's highschool). prison time just creates fear to jail...not the feeling of guilty. The creative punishment is better to do it...and let the people enjoy being free. And maybe this way is better for her...if she is on bail report cause jail and not report may cause red hand caught...at least she can walk away without handcuffs.

it was not about her but more about him (behind the camera). It is out of the line for ordinary people (with no authority) to take matters in their own hand and treat others in such manner. He does not have any concern about her at all and feels that he has the right to treat her in this humiliating way. She still has the right to be treated in proper manner. He should have treated her differently if he had the slightest concern about her. This only brings chaos about as untrained/unauthorized individuals will start to take things in their own hands and execute judgment upon each other in the way they see fit.

too bad this is only a post and not a forum thread that stayed current on the front page. argument / debate seems to bring out interesting sides of people here.
