A curious person used his/her GoPro (Hero 3) camera and two lights to see what happens in a dishwasher after you close the door.

That' s an old dishwasher or a really cheap one. Better units have nozzles on the top as well as bottom and have separate dispensers for various soaps, clarifiers, etc. Their dishes aren't really getting cleaned very well.
