He probably modded it or otherwise fucked with it and now this happened (or he made this happen), he's going to try to sue Samsung.

I'm sure that Samsung will put the blame for the Japanese-made parts.

When they buy cheap batteries made by who knows what, this is the result. It is NOT any fault of Samsung.

The phone itself didn't explode - it was the battery. Cheap batteries (and even some factory batteries - I'm looking at you Sony) have been known to have incredibly small metal shavings in them that cause electrical shorts and battery fires. If the battery is in a confined space, like a cell phone, it can explode.
