How is it possible that the CGI in this movie is vastly inferior to that of the 20 year old Terminator 2?

Don't get me wrong, Terminator is one of my favourite franchises but the CG here looks massless, moves poorly and highly non-integrated with the live footage.

two reasons: because arnold himself has aged, and because a T-unit still has an organic exterior surrounding the ageless metal interior.
