Helium is a noble gas. Noble gases are inert and don't burn.

well, the helium mix might have included something else more flammable. consider nitrogen in our atmosphere, say.

Nitrogen is also inert, it does not burn. Hopefully for us because air is made of 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen...

that is correct. and my point was-- the helium mix may have included a mix of something else more flammable just as nitrogen in the atmosphere includes some gases which facilitate a burn... such as oxygen and hydrogen.
