The town of Coober Pedy is built underground and designed to provide an escape from extreme heat.

 

The entrance doesn't look too impressive. What's impressive is what lies underneath it, though.
Leave the heat behind.
Enter the coolest place in Australia. Literally.
It's located underground, so it's cool down there, even during the hot summer.
There's living quarters.
They look amazing.
Chill with your friends.
It has places to hang out in.
Bars...
Find shelter from the heat that won't likely be boring.
It resembles the vaults from Fallout.
But unlike the Fallout vaults, these are not only real, but also easily accessible and functional.
Filled with stores...
and fun activities for (now) cool people.
