Nutmeg, unofficially the world’s oldest cat, has just celebrated his 31st birthday (141 in human years)
“He rules the house and he’s absolutely gorgeous”
The Finlays took the cat in back in 1990 as a stray who befriended their own cat
The owners were told he was already at least 5 years old when they got him
But to apply for the Guinness World Record, The Finlays need to show official documents
Nutmeg is a very senior cat indeed, but to the Finlays he is simply the pet they adore
“He is spoilt rotten… He comes in every morning at five am and we get up and feed him”
Last year Nutmeg suffered from a serious stroke, but now he is up again…
