Spider-Man: Homecoming
After his experience with the avengers, Peter Parker goes back home where he lives with his Aunt May. Parker’s mentor, Tony Stark, keeps an eye on him and helps Parker grow into his new identity as Spider-Man. Parker ends up leading a double life: he still tries to maintain the life of an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York but at the same time, he fights crime as Spider-Man. Things get really interesting when the evil Vulture emerges and challenges him.
Spider-Man: Homecoming, the long-awaited American superhero film, will premiere in New York City on June 28th. It will then be released on July 7th in the United States in 3D. A sequel of the film is going to be released in 2019.
War For The Planet Of The Apes
Two years after the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and his fellow apes are forced to engage in a war with humans. The army of humans are led by a ruthless colonel and will stop at nothing to destroy the apes. As more and more apes are killed, Caesar confronts his own dark side and then goes on a quest in order to get revenge on humans. Eventually, Caesar and the evil colonel confront each other in a battle. Losing means forsaking your species. The fate of the earth also depends on this final battle.
War for the Planet of the Apes will be released on 14th of July. The film stars actors such as Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson and Judy Greer.
Saw: Legacy
Bodies of people that have been gruesomely murdered start appearing all around the city. An investigation is carried out and all the evidence seems to point to a man named John Kramer. But there’s one problem: Kramer, who is also known as Jigsaw, has been dead for years. Suspicion stars falling on everyone. It is said that an apprentice of Jigsaw is carrying out his legacy. Or perhaps someone inside the investigation is a cold-blooded murderer.
Saw: Legacy will be released on October 27th. It’s a horror film that stars Tobin Bell, Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, and Brittany Allen. The film is the eight instalment in the Saw film series.
Geostorm
It’s the future and climate-controlling satellites suddenly stop working. Instead, they release disaster-creating small pods that turn the world into chaos. A man then goes into space in order to stop the satellites from creating and distributing more of these disaster sowing pods. If the man fails to stop the satellites, a “geostorm” – a storm that consists of tornadoes, tsunamis, massive hailstones and fire whirls – will occur. This geostorm will eventually destroy the world.
Geostorm will be released on October 20th. It’s a disaster action film that stars Gerard Butler, Daniel Wu, Abbie Cornish, Ed Harris and Andy Garcia. The film was initially supposed to be released in March 2016 but later the date was moved to that of October 2017.
Annabelle: Creation
A doll-maker and his wife lost their daughter twenty years ago. Now, they decide to welcome a nun and a few girls from an orphanage that just closed into their home. The doll-maker’s creation, Annabelle 2, also lives in the house. The doll is possessed and soon turns to the orphan girls, making their life a living hell.
Annabelle: Creation will be released on August the 11th. While the film was initially supposed to be released in May, its release date was pushed back so that it wouldn’t have to compete with the film Alien: Covenant.
Annabelle: Creation is a supernatural horror film that stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Grace Fulton and Anthony LaPaglia. The film is a prequel to the film Annabelle that was released in 2014.
Justice League
A couple of months after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman Bruce Wayne and Wonder Woman Diana Prince feel inspired by Superman’s sacrifice for humanity. Wayne and Prince gather a team of meta-humans to fight against the threat of the general of the alien race Steppenwolf and his terrifying army of Parademons who are out looking for three Mother Boxes on Earth.
Justice League will be released on November 17th both in 3D and 2D. The film is the fifth part of the DC Extended Universe. Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, Diane Lane and Amy Adams, among many others.
It
It’s the summer of 1989 in Derry, Maine. A group of outcast kids make a unique discovery – a shape-shifting entity that may be responsible for the recent cases of missing children in Derry. The shape-shifting entity is a trans-dimensional evil being that only awakens every three decades.
It will be released on September 8th. It’s a supernatural horror film that stars Bill Skarsgard, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, and Finn Wolfhard. The film is based on Stephen King’s novel that was written in 1986 of the same name. It is supposed to be the first film in a duology. The film is also an adaptation of the 1990 miniseries that go by the same name.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Kignsman’s headquarters is destroyed by a criminal mastermind known as Popppy. As a result, the Kignsman secret agent named Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, Eggsy’s trainer Merlin and Eggsy’s best friend Roxy go to America in order to cooperate with Statesman which is the American equivalent of Kignsman.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released on September 22nd. It’s a British-American action spy film that stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Halle Berry and Channing Tatum.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the sequel to the film Kingsman: The Secret Service which was released in 2015. It has been revealed that a third Kingsman film is currently being planned!
Starship Troopers: Traitor Of Mars
The film takes place after the events of the film Starship Troopers: Invasion. General Johnny Rico is relocated to a completely isolated base on the planet of Mars. The government of Earth and her space colonies, known as the Terrain Federation, are planning to attack the home planet of giant bugs. But the giant bugs decide to attack the isolated base on Mars. Rico and his recruits, Isabelle “Dizzy” Flores are forced to fight the giant bugs.
The film will be released on August 21st. It’s an animated action sci-fi film and stars Casper van Dien, Dina Meyer, and DeRay Davis. Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars is the fifth film in the Starship Trooper series. The film is also a sequel to the film Starship Troopers: Invasion that was released in 2012.
Blade Runner 2049
Officer K is the new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department. Officer K accidentally discovers a terrifying secret that has the ability to plunge society into chaos. Officer K then decides to search for the former blade runner, named Rick Deckard, that has been missing for 30 years, and seek his help.
Blade Runner 2049 will be released on October 6th in both 3D and 2D. The film is neo-noir science fiction and stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis, Robin Wright, Jared Leto and Sylvia Hoeks. Blade Runner 2049 is a sequel to the film Blade Runner that was released in 1982.
Thor: Ragnarok
After what happened in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron, the crown prince of Asgard Thor is held prisoner on the planet of Sakaar without his hammer with him. Thor is forced to fight in a gladiatorial duel against his old friend the Hulk. If Thor wins this fight, he will be able to return to Asgard and hopefully stop the ruler of Hel and Niflheim, named Hela, and in consequence, the doom of Asgard.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3rd. It’s a superhero film that is based on the Marvel Comics character Thor. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba and Jeff Goldblum.
Flatliners
Five medical students are involved in an experiment that allows them to glimpse into life after death. The experiment starts after the students experience near-death after stopping their hearts from beating for short periods of time. As the experiment commences, each student is forced to confront their past sins. At the same time, they are all experiencing paranormal occurrences that result from their experiment.
Flatliners will be released on September 29th. It’s a science fiction psychological horror film that stars Allen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, and James Norton, among many others. Flatliners is a sequel to the 1990 film that was also called Flatliners. Kiefer Sutherland, who starred in the original Flatliners, will appear in the 2017 version of Flatliners also.
Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets
It’s the 28th century and Valerian and Laureline are special operatives. Their task is to maintain order throughout the human territories. But that’s not all – soon the Minister of Defence gives them a special assignment. Now, Valerian and Laureline have to travel to Alpha.
Alpha, also known as the City of a Thousand Planets, is a huge metropolis where species from all over the universe come together to share their knowledge and culture with one another. But there is a mysterious evil force in the middle of Alpha that threatens to destroy both the various species and the universe. Valerian and Laureline must stop the evil force.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will be released on the 21st of July. It stars Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Rihanna and Ethan Hawke.
The Dark Tower
An 11-year-old boy named Jake Chambers comes upon clues about another dimension which is called Mid-World. He follows the clues and is magically transported to the Mid-World dimension. There, the boy comes face to face with a gunslinger named Roland Deschain.
Deschain is trying to reach the Dark Tower that is located in End-World. Deschain must also reach the nexus point between time and space because only doing so will save everyone from becoming extinct. The boy decides to help Deschain but their mission is not easy for they encounter various obstacles in their way, including monsters and an evil sorcerer who is called Walter Padick.
The Dark Tower will be released on August the 4th in both 3D and 2D. The film is a science fantasy western action horror film. The Dark Tower is based on Stephen King’s novel series and stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard
A special protection agent named Michael Bryce has to safeguard the life of his most-hated enemy, Darius Kincaid. Kincaid is a notorious hitman known worldwide. Bryce has to take Kincaid from England to the International Court of Justice. But Bryce’s task is not as easy as it sounds. On the way to the International Court of Justice Bryce and Kincaid are chased by assassins. In the end, both Bryce and Kincaid have to cooperate if they are to defeat the merciless Eastern European dictator, Vladislav Dukhovich.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard will be released on August the 18th. It’s an action comedy film that stars Ryan Reynolds, Gary Oldman, and Salma Hayek.
American Made
A TWA pilot called Barry Seal is recruited by the CIA. The CIA task Seal with countering the Communist threat that is emerging in Central America. During the secret operation, Seal is sucked into the Medellin Cartel which embarrassed the Reagan White House after the publicity of Iran-Contra scandal.
American Made will be released on September 19th. The film is a biographical crime film that is based on the true life of Barry Seal – an ex TWA pilot, drug smuggler and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) informer.
American Made stars Tom Cruise, Sarah Wright and Domhnall Gleeson. The film was first titled as Mena and was schedules to be released in January. However, the title of the film and the release date were later changed so as to avoid competition from the films Amityville: The Awakening and Underworld: Blood Wars.
Logan Lucky
Jimmy, Mellie and Clyde Logan are siblings that decide to carry out an elaborate robbery so as to reverse a family curse. They decide that the robbery should take place during the Coca-Cola 600 race in North Carolina during the Memorial Day weekend.
Logan Lucky will be released on August 18th. It’s a heist comedy film and stars Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough and Daniel Craig. This will be the first film that has been directed by Steven Soderbergh after he announced his retirement from film making. Also, did you know that Daniel Craig had to dye his hair bleach-blond for his role as Joe Bang in this movie?
First Kill
The Wall Street broker Will is determined to reconnect with his son Danny. So he decides to take his whole family on a hunting trip to the cabin where he grew up when he was little. However, on one of the hunting trips the father and son come upon robbers and become witnesses to a murder.
Will then gets caught in an unsuccessful bank heist. As a result of Will’s involvement, his son, Danny, gets kidnapped. Will must then help kidnappers evade police and find the stolen loot or else risk losing his son.
First Kill will be released on July 21st. It’s an action thriller and stars Bruce Willis, Hayden Christensen, Magi Avila, Megan Leonard and William DeMeo.
The Silent Man
G-Man Mark Felt, also known as “Deep Throat”, leaks confidential information to the media which leads to the exposure of the Watergate scandal of 1974.
The film will be released in September. The Silent Man is a biographical spy thriller and stars Liam Neeson, Diane Lane, Tony Goldwyn, Maika Monroe and Kate Walsh. The film is actually based on the true story of an FBI agent Mark Felt who anonymously told the reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein about the Watergate scandal and assisted them in the investigation. As a result, Felt became known as “Deep Throat”. The idea for this film was first conceived in 2006.
Wish Upon
A girl named Clare Shannon is given a mysterious music box by her father. Shannon is surprised to find that now that she owns the music box her every wish is coming true. However, while she is happy at first eventually Shannon’s life turns into a horror story as she begins to realize that every wish she makes has deadly consequences.
Wish Upon will be released on July 14th. It’s a supernatural horror film that stars Joey King, Ryan Philippe, Ki Hong Lee, Shannon Purser, and Kevin Hanchard. Wish Upon is said to be loosely based on W. W. Jacob’s short story The Monkey’s Paw.
