On the 4th of July, police in Asheville, NC, got a call about a giant slip’n slide supposedly blocking the road
When the cops arrived, however, they did something unexpected… Instead of shutting it down, they joined in!
“We looked at it and determined it wasn’t really an issue” said senior officer Carrie Lee
“So the first thing I said, I said I’m not here to break up your fun”
Local resident Katlen Joyce Smith recorded the entire thing and uploaded it to Facebook
“I still can’t handle the amazing-ness of it all,” Smith later wrote
“I hope the neighbor who called them saw it all go down!!”
“My butt got wet,” officer Joe Jones can be heard saying at the end of the video
“When the female officer asked for a garbage bag… She took off her radio and went for it!”
“They had such good energy. All the kids were loving it,” resident Travis Eagledove told ABC News
