Perito Moreno Glacier
The Patagonian Ice Field is a sheet of ice in Southern Argentina and Chile that is roughly 17,000 square km. This the third largest fresh water source in the world, and it feeds 48 different glaciers, including the Perito Moreno Glacier. This bleak wasteland of snow and ice, is slowly crossing Lake Argentino.
As with most bodies of ice, the majority of it is underwater, but what remains above, is 250 square km of deep ravines and ice peaks, with a 200 foot high wall of ice rising from its leading edge.
