They are taken by Barbara Peacock, a successful American commercial photographer from Portland, Oregon. She started this series to display hidden and transparent complexities of who Americans are as individuals and a nation.
Wara Art Festival has been taking place in Niigata City since 2008 as a collaboration between the city’s tourism division and the Musashino Art University. Rice straws left after the harvest are used to create massive astonishing sculptures.
She is a university lecturer who never has problems with student attendance. Most of them come just to see if she is as beautiful in life as she is on her Instagram.
