The setting for “Gremlins 2: A New Batch” was Clamp Tower (Yes, a parody of Trump Tower), and it was so futuristic it had automatic doors, lights, and everything else. Of course, it all went horribly wrong and nothing ever worked correctly. It’s not the first smart home prediction but it was worth mentioning.
