Selena was an award-winning recording artist in the Latin music scene. While she was about to put out an English album called Dreaming of You in hopes to reach U.S. pop charts, she didn’t live to see its success. She died on March 31st, 1995 when the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldivar shot her.
