Rabbi Moses Israel Benjamin predicted in a book he published in 1894 that when there’s a solar eclipse in the Hebrew month of Elul, it’ll be the sign of the beginning of the end times. In his work, he states, “It is a bad sign for the other nations, bringing great damage to the kings of the East, and bringing great storms and death to animals.”
