I had some screw-in dimmers that would sit between the lamp and the fixture. It sets a bit better mood in the room

I don't get the hygiene part where you don't use the remote control but the trash can and the sink are ok. People aren't aware of all the bacteria resistence. Is more likely you just wash your hands than they wash the bin properly.
If a hotel room doesn’t have a fridge, keep your booze (and other drinks, I guess) cold by filling the bathroom sink with ice and using it as a makeshift cooler.
