#11 Fake. They are known to be able to live to 500 - 600 years. That isn't even the most interesting things about them, they are an amazing animal, big as great whites, and when mature, all blind.

How about pigeons? I remember seeing this grey pigeon when I was a kid. I'm now 76 and I saw it again just last week.

Freshwater pearl mussels are a long-living species. They grow extremely slowly which is why their average lifespan ranges from 86 to 102 years, but it depends a lot on environmental factors such as water quality. The oldest freshwater pearl mussel found was 280 years old.
