#11 Fake. They are known to be able to live to 500 - 600 years. That isn't even the most interesting things about them, they are an amazing animal, big as great whites, and when mature, all blind.

How about pigeons? I remember seeing this grey pigeon when I was a kid. I'm now 76 and I saw it again just last week.

Giant tortoises are quite famous for their incredible longevity but Adwaita the Aldabra giant tortoise was a truly unique animal that died at the age of 255 years. Many scientists consider it the oldest terrestrial animal to have ever lived.
