#11 Fake. They are known to be able to live to 500 - 600 years. That isn't even the most interesting things about them, they are an amazing animal, big as great whites, and when mature, all blind.

How about pigeons? I remember seeing this grey pigeon when I was a kid. I'm now 76 and I saw it again just last week.

Antarctic sponge, 1550 years old
The majority of scientists think that the Antarctic sponge is able to live for centuries due to the extremely low temperatures of the Antarctic Ocean and their slow growth rate. Some estimate the oldest known specimens are 1,550 years old.
