The Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He has Irish, English, and Scottish ancestry. Fox’s family lived in various cities and towns across Canada because of his father’s career until finally, they settled down in Burnaby, a large suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia.
At the age of 18, Fox decided to pursue his acting career and moved to Los Angeles where he got a few roles in different TV series.
In 1999, Michael J. Fox became a US citizen. Today, he keeps dual Canadian-US citizenship, although he and his family live primarily in Manhattan, New York.
