Central vision is superior to peripheral vision with regard to spacial resolution. In other words, objects on your sides appear to move faster than objects in front of you. Using a camera lens to zoom in eliminates the objects on the peripheral making everything appear to slow down.

No it doesnt, because cameras dont habe periphal vision. Its a matter of the viewing angle.
