I like all you Navy boys. Every time we’ve gotta go someplace and fight, you fellas always give us a ride.
The pilot that gets “flipped off” by Maverick and Goose is Admiral Robert Willard, the lead flight choreographer for the film. He was Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet before transferring to United States Pacific Command.
