Drusilla,

Agreed. the US has countless, world class, micro breweries. And the larger ones, like Budweiser, arent even american. I think bud is Inbev, which is belgian

14.4 litres would be 8.2 handles, not 48. Big difference. Sheesh

Christopher,

It's 14.4 litres of pure alcohol. Do the math and you'll get 48 handles of ~17% :) vodka.

Dea,

Vodka is not 17%, it is usually minimum 37,5% in Europe...
Minimum 40% or 80 proof if you want in the US.
15ml pure alcohol is circa 40ml vodka at 40% (1 unit of alcohol here where I live)
so 48 of those big bottles is more like 22 if you do the math....

Vodka is usually 40% ABV. One handle of vodka (1.75 liters) is 700 ml, not about
300 milliliters of pure alcohol.

Dea,
Exactly ... who did the math? I could see converting from Quarts to liters being confusing, but when it's all metric...WTF?

1. Belarus (14.4 liters)

Belarus takes the crown for the most alcohol in the world of 14.4 liters per person per year. That comes to about 48 handles of vodka per person per year. There are only 52 weeks in the year. I’m getting a hangover just typing this.
