"My husband and I didn’t have an international phone plan when we last went to Italy.. we had been out all day and arrived back at the train station (30 min from town) …we didn’t know taxis stopped coming to the train station after 9pm so we were stranded..

a local man was climbing into his taxi and asked us if we were ok .. and we explained we were waiting for a taxi .. after explaining they didn’t just come to the station this late ..he insisted we jump in his and he dropped us off in Florence .. he said his daughter lives in Los Angeles and he just hoped someone would do the same for her …"

"When my son was 4 months old, I ran to the grocery store to grab some more formula. It was in the middle of the night and totally forgot my wallet. The elderly lady behind me paid for the formula because she saw how distraught I was looking. Her kind actions brought me tears and hugged her."

"I was probably 18, a clueless girl, trying to air up my low tires at a gas station when an older man getting gas saw me struggling. He came over and very patiently taught me the correct way to do it, with a pressure gauge and all.

It doesn’t sound like much but it was cool how he took 10 minutes out of his day to teach me instead of just doing it for me. Every time I air up my tires I think of him. I bet he’s an awesome grandfather."

"When I was younger I used to live in an island called Suomenlinna in Helsinki, Finland. I was visiting my mom’s grave with my dad and my sister, and when we were about to go home I dropped them off at the harbor where the ferry leaves to Suomenlinna and then drove to the parking spot few kilometers away and was determined to catch the same ferry with them.

I didn’t have much time so I was running when a car slowed down next to me, opened the window and asked where am I rushing and when I told him, he gave me a lift to the harbor. I will never forget that."
