Yup. You can see it when bleeding air from central-heating radiators, because the system keeps circulating the same water through them. Which is also why it floods out from the nearest pipe.
That's a really bad installation. Pipes are only intended to connect, not bear a radiator's weight, let alone anything like a person sitting on it. It should be on feet fixed to the floor or wall brackets. Or have both.
