The title is a bit misleading. This should be called "getting your child to fall asleep" .
The timeline shows this takes place from 21:55 - 22:12. That is just over 15 minutes. Hardly a nights worth of sleep.
The bed set up with sidewalls looks like it is more the child's bed and the mom just lays with the child to get them to fall asleep.
Culturally lots of families do co-sleep and this is due to a norm for families to sleep together as has been done since the dawn of time. Benefits to the child staying with the parents in the same room or bed are well documented.
There may also be room or apartment sizes to consider. Not everyone has a bedroom for each member of the family.
Easy to judge, harder to understand why.
