this happened to me in a Stop and Shop parking lot, i was backing out (as slow as possible without looking like i was stopped, meaning barely moving) when i heard a thump.
this kid comes to the window and sees i'm smoking a cigarette and asks for one so i give it to him and light it for him.
after giving him and lighting a cigarett he says "hey man, you hit me when you were backing out and my leg is all messed up, i wont say anything for $100)
i thought "you have got to be kidding me"
the parking lot has cameras so i get out of the car with my phone and dial 911 and tell the kid "OMG let me get you an ambulance, here sit down"
the kid panics and i get the 911 operator and tell her where i am and what just happened.
the kids starts saying "hey man i'm ok no need to call anyone" and he starts walking away
i wait for the cops to show up and tell him what just happened about bumming a cigarette before telling me i hit him while barely moving and the stores CCTV should have caught it.
after giving him a description of the kid and pointing the direction of the way he headed he tells me i can leave and with lights blazing he speeds off after the kid

never give one of these scammers anything but a call to 911 and the police
