#17 those look impossible to skate in, the fact that skates need to be tied snug enough around the ankle to keep the blade perpendicular to ankle to prevent the ankle from bending over and possibly braking

#1 So the modern version should be a picture of sunglasses not correction lenses.
Burr grinder
Try putting a handle to the upper part of a burr grinder in your mind and blades inside — and you will get a perfectly modern mill for coffee or pepper.
