Lydia,

Their parachute deployed immediately. So were only doing 10-12MPH within seconds. Plane probably was flying less than terminal velocity for a person 120mph for the drop.

By the time someone solo dives they should have already done several tandem dives with a trainer. Those that don't are the ones that die.

Pam, Nobody on my jump coarse tandem dives. Its a static line on a basic chute at low speed altitude etc. oh and no one died. How many jumps you got there Pam? :)
