Was an orderly in ER. Saw lots of sweet old ladies with heart failure whose fingers had ballooned up and buried the rings. Had a special tool to remove the ring by cutting them off. Those ladies wept and explained how much those rings meant, the boys who gave them, when they lost the boys. Always moved me.
