There is no way people are dumb enough to be walking around holding a few hundred dollars cash in the open but that is what they are doing when using a phone worth a few hundred dollars in the open. No use to pick pocket in stealth mode when a pick pocket gang can just steal it out of your hand like a seagull going for your hotdog.
