I grew up at the ocean and all the locals knew that dolphins enjoy scaring people, especially surfers. They would always shoot down the wave directly at the surfers, who would have to scramble out of the way. Some think they’re just having fun and not meaning to harm anyone, but of the dozens of times I saw this, they were deliberately terrorizing surfers. They aren’t friendly in the wild and are actually kind of bullies. Incredibly intelligent, but not harmless.
