Beautiful piece of engineer and design. 90 minutes of constant listening; long battery life; ok sound quality; small, light & portable; no skipping when running; easy to record your own - lots of fun making and swapping your own mix tapes. Love the current devices, but wow, back in the day, these were great

Babs,

I don't know about that, analog media has limitations, especially if you use same tapes repeatedly. I used a walkman nearly daily between end of 99 and 2004-ish. Then I got an mp3 player (Creative "MuVo USB 2.0" 512mb) - It was superior in every way Imaginable.

For the Single AAA-battery in the first MuVo I used - I didn't even buy new ones, just used what ever I found in the recycling bin- It worked wonderfully, still does - albeit replaced by the smartphone. Worked wonders during prolonged traveling, as you can get cheapo AAA-bats sold almost everywhere in the world.
