I am a little tired of the America-bashing. Some socialist country taxes and spends to redistribute the wealth of people who earn it to people who did not, and it is presented as so virtuous. America saved the world twice through capitalism. It was not a socialist country that did that, it was the USA.
Tobias, I assume you are referring to world war 1 and 2? Are you familiar with the revenue act of 1940? The top tax rate for someone earning 500,000 or more was 75%. AKA taxing the rich which is a socialist ideal. Also we have had plenty of socialism in this country for decades. The army, police, fire, roads, post office, medicaid, medicare...
I'm fine with some socialist beliefs, but you can't have an equality of outcome if there isn't an equality of input. People who think they are entitled to a certain lifestyle without the effort are delusional.
Tobias, What part of American governance do you think doesn't take your money and distribute it to others? We have operated on a Keynsian economic policy for decades which dictates that the government must control how much spendable money you have to prevent inflation or other maladies that might harm industry's profits. Read a book.

There is nothing wrong with socialism.
There is plenty wrong with socialism. The demand for conformity of thought first among them.

Everything about socialism is wrong.
And everything you noted is Common Good. Not socialism.
