I assume you are referring to world war 1 and 2? Are you familiar with the revenue act of 1940? The top tax rate for someone earning 500,000 or more was 75%. AKA taxing the rich which is a socialist ideal. Also we have had plenty of socialism in this country for decades. The army, police, fire, roads, post office, medicaid, medicare...
There is nothing wrong with socialism.
There is plenty wrong with socialism. The demand for conformity of thought first among them.
I'm fine with some socialist beliefs, but you can't have an equality of outcome if there isn't an equality of input. People who think they are entitled to a certain lifestyle without the effort are delusional.
Everything about socialism is wrong.
