The space station is a mess and I am glad they are retiring it in 2030. It will be nice when a larger more capable station is available in the future.

Aerospace Engineer here.

Actually, it doesn't smell at all. There are filters for that purpose. Also, everything is meticulously checked for smell before it's sent to the ISS. Imagine having that new carpet smell for 6 months, or that plactic smell, etc
