She should have let most of the air out of the truck’s tires. Still drivable, but not safe to drive any distance.

Jos,

That is potentially a far worse offense ("malicious mischief to a vehicle" maybe, depending on the interpretation) than parking on someone's lawn and might actually end up with you being charged and/or paying for "damages" on top of the AHole neighbour getting the high moral ground as "the victim".

What would have been potentially a lot more effective is repeated complaints to homeowners association which could, depending on their bylaws, force a sale of the property.

HOA in my apartment building has a 3 strikes rule, it had to be invoked once in the 70-ish years my HOA was operated because most people just need to be reminded that that particular section of the bylaw exists and is binding to make them behave.

It would have been best to try to de-escalate one more time early on. Understand she was sick but you don't want to jump into a hard response quickly. Now she has to deal with an irate neighbor - guarantee her stress level is through the roof every time she leaves the house now.

Libby,

I doubt it, the second time it happened the dad's anger was deflated as it was the son's fault for lying to him about where he parked his truck. The neighbors haven't bothered her at the time she posted the updates, and they even sold the truck and bought a small car. I bet the ND is smart enough to know that the next time they have to go before a judge it won't go so easy.

This is why respecting the neighbors boundaries are so important. Sounds like the neighbors are trash and their rude son sounds like an awful person. This is the kind of thing that could have been avoided if the neighbor parents were decent people.

Could have been three sentences.
"My aggressive neighbor parked on my private property without permission many times. I had it towed and the police charged him. He now has a small truck."
Accompany this with pictures and voila. dance3

She got his car towed and him fined.

A lot of people would agree that it’s quite important to have a good relationship with your neighbors as you never know when you’re going to need a helping hand from them
