She got his car towed and him fined.

A lot of people would agree that it’s quite important to have a good relationship with your neighbors as you never know when you’re going to need a helping hand from them

One Reddit user decided to share how she got involved in a dreadful dispute with her neighbors

The woman gave some background information about her neighborhood and people’s parking habits as it is important to the story

The author of the post added that she has met the family that just moved in next door

The woman presented the main “characters” of the story that took some time to unfold

One day, her next-door neighbor came to her to talk about his son getting his first car

The man asked if his son could park his car in her driveway because it’s a big car and they don’t have enough space in their own property

The woman disagreed with this because she uses her driveway and doesn’t find it acceptable for him to park there

The author of the post made it clear that she wouldn’t allow the truck to be parked in her driveway and couldn’t even believe she was asked such a thing

She even sent an email to HOA about the situation just to have it on the record

The situation escalated further when the woman had to go see a doctor because one of her kids was sick

She was about to leave the house when she saw that her driveway was blocked by neighbor’s truck

She went to the neighbors and made it clear once again that he couldn’t park his car there and that if it happened again, his truck will be towed

Later, the woman had to go to see the doctor once again because her kid wasn’t feeling that well

Once she was back, she saw that the “famous” truck was once again in her driveway

There was no other way but to call the tow truck service and get the car removed

The next morning, when the neighbor couldn’t find the car, he came to the woman’s house and was furious after finding out that it was towed

The neighbor called the police on the woman but she was ready to talk about the situation as she had all the evidence

She showed all the emails, pictures, and a video that showed how her neighbors trespassed her property and harassed her

The woman filed a report on trespassing, notified her HOA once again on the situation and waited to see how this situation would end

The woman didn’t get any shocking outcome from the situation but was happy to see how many people became invested in this story

The woman provided users online with a final update by telling that the neighbor received a $150 fine

It was also added that the family finally decided to sell the truck and buy a smaller car for their son

She should have let most of the air out of the truck’s tires. Still drivable, but not safe to drive any distance.

Jos,

That is potentially a far worse offense ("malicious mischief to a vehicle" maybe, depending on the interpretation) than parking on someone's lawn and might actually end up with you being charged and/or paying for "damages" on top of the AHole neighbour getting the high moral ground as "the victim".

What would have been potentially a lot more effective is repeated complaints to homeowners association which could, depending on their bylaws, force a sale of the property.

HOA in my apartment building has a 3 strikes rule, it had to be invoked once in the 70-ish years my HOA was operated because most people just need to be reminded that that particular section of the bylaw exists and is binding to make them behave.

It would have been best to try to de-escalate one more time early on. Understand she was sick but you don't want to jump into a hard response quickly. Now she has to deal with an irate neighbor - guarantee her stress level is through the roof every time she leaves the house now.

Libby,

I doubt it, the second time it happened the dad's anger was deflated as it was the son's fault for lying to him about where he parked his truck. The neighbors haven't bothered her at the time she posted the updates, and they even sold the truck and bought a small car. I bet the ND is smart enough to know that the next time they have to go before a judge it won't go so easy.

This is why respecting the neighbors boundaries are so important. Sounds like the neighbors are trash and their rude son sounds like an awful person. This is the kind of thing that could have been avoided if the neighbor parents were decent people.

Could have been three sentences.
"My aggressive neighbor parked on my private property without permission many times. I had it towed and the police charged him. He now has a small truck."
Accompany this with pictures and voila. dance3
